Herb Ruth of Cabinetmakers Local Union 359 donated a First Place trophy he designed and made for the winners of a golf outing dedicated to a fallen police officer. Brother Ruth has been a member of LU 359 for 27 years and donated his time and expertise to make the trophy for a Fund Raiser in honor of Philadelphia Police Office Gary Skersky who was killed in the line of duty on May 8, 2006.

State Representative Rosita Youngblood visited the Council office recently. Representative Youngblood has been serving the 198th District in Philadelphia since 1994. She is a strong supporter of Organized Labor.

Local 454 Member Wins Tournament

 

 

 

 

Bill Simmerman of LU 454 won the 1st Annual Striped Bass Tournament sponsored by Carpenters LU 1743 to benefit the BRENDAN BOREK HIGH TIDES MEMORIAL FUND for pediatric cancer. The winning stripper weighed in at 55.35 pounds.
